Rising Stem API 6A Gate Valve - PFF style
The rising stem gate valve has threads on the outside of the valve body. When the valve is open, the gate valve stem is moving upward, providing a visual indication of the valve position and the ability to lubricate the stem. the rising stem gate valve is suitable for installation on the ground.
The rising stem gate valve allows you to visually track how far the valve has opened. For a rising stem gate valve, it is easy to tell if the valve is open or closed by looking at the number of exposed stems. If the handle is flushed with the pipe (no outer stem), the valve is closed. If a large number of stems are exposed, the valve opens.
